NEWTON, KS, July 07, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Joan S. Carter, Organizational Communication Manager for The Coleman Company, Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in media relations.

With 27 years of professional experience, Ms. Carter specializes in organizational communication and media relations management. She oversees business operations, coordinates donations, internal communications and media relations for the company, and writes newsletters. The company manufactures outdoor recreation products, including camping gear, tents and equipment.

Ms. Carter received her Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Wichita State University, cum laude, in 1984. Prior to joining The Coleman Company, Inc., she served as the manager of internal communications for Raytheon Aircraft and as the assistant director and communications director of Wichita State University Alumni Association. Currently, she utilizes her experience in advocacy writing for nonprofit, educational and philanthropic organizations. In addition, she is a member of Wichita Professional Communicators, Kansas Professional Communicators and the National Federation of Press Women. She also serves on the Council of Communication Management and is a board member of Active Aging with Senior Citizens Outreach Program.
