Montreal's Jewish General Hospital Awarded Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) Prevention Hospital Award
A Jewish General Hospital multidisciplinary team was internally assembled with the goal of Venous Thromboembolism Prevention (VTE). Jewish General Hospital's efforts have been recognized nationally.
SAN DIEGO, CA, February 27, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A Jewish General Hospital multidisciplinary team was internally assembled with the goal of Venous Thromboembolism Prevention (VTE). Jewish General Hospital's efforts have been recognized nationally. The "Safer Healthcare Now!" review panel recently awarded The Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) Prevention Hospital Award to the Jewish General Hospital team.
"We educated nurses and attending staff, did performance audits and gave real-time feedback to those involved. We've seen significant improvements in both subscribing, administrating and, ultimately, preventing VTE/pulmonary embolism in our patient population," said Director of Nursing Lynne McVey.
Composed of Hetal Patel RN, Marie-Claude Germain RN, Jessica Emed RN, Dr. Shannon Fraser and Markirit Armutlu OT, the VTE Prevention team set out to improve internal procedures with the objective of reducing venous thromboembolism incidents.
